Words by Mikaël

Pumpkins, Curcubita pepo, originated in North America, specifically in northeastern Mexico and the southern United States.

They almost disappeared after the extermination of the local mega-fauna (mastodons, giant terrestrial sloths, gomphothères, etc.) which dispersed the seeds, but paradoxically humanity ensured its survival by starting to eat them, and then to cultivate them.

The oldest known written record of the pumpkin dates back to the 13th century, in The Diet of the Aldebrandin Master Corps of Siena, which ranks them among «the four major cold seeds [winter seeds] ».

This oil rich in vitamins A, B, D and E, minerals and proteins, also contains more than 60% unsaturated fatty acids, and omega 3 and omega 6 fatty acids, which gives it excellent moisturizing and hydrating properties.

It can be used on all skin types.

It is particularly nourishing and can be added to facial creams, serum, lotions, bath oils, massage oils, and soaps.

Words by Anny Schneider

Pumpkin seeds, like this certified organic oil, have sanitizing, dissolving or vermifuge virtues.

Containing all the fat-soluble vitamins, it hydrates dry skin perfectly and can even help dissolve fatty clumps, cysts and other crystallizations.

Place it in the refrigerator for longer preservation.

Origin

Vegetable oil produced in India by cold pressing of pumpkin seeds.

Properties

The squash is harvested, dried and cold pressed at high pressure to extract its oil.

The result is a pure product, very rich in vitamin E, selenium and fatty acids.

In addition, it contains most of the vitamins our body needs, vitamins B (B1, B2; B6…) and vitamin A, as well as vitamins C, D and K.

It is also naturally rich in Omega 3 and Omega 6, magnesium, iron, copper and zinc.

These fatty acids and trace elements are essential for the proper functioning of our system, but they cannot be synthesized by the body.

More information

This oil is rich in phytosterols, effective molecules to fight against prostate disorders.

With age, some men experience difficulty urinating and there has been a marked improvement with the use of this oil, which will prevent the inflammation responsible for the problem.

Its antioxidant virtues slow down the aging of the prostate and thus delay urinary difficulties.

In cases of urinary tract infections, it is also used.

It is a natural remedy to treat these infections, especially in women who are more willing to suffer from them.

It must be consumed mainly cold, because cooking this pumpkin seed oil makes it lose most of its properties.
