More information

The Italian Helichrysum (Helichrysum italicum) is a flowering plant of the family Asteraceae.

Present all around the Mediterranean, it takes the form of a small bush of 40 to 60 cm in height, which produces golden yellow blooms from early June to the end of July.

The term «Helichrysum» comes from the Greek helios, sun, and chrysos, gold (allusion to the general color of the flower).

The name «italicus», comes from the Latin italicus, Italy, region where the plant was described for the first time.

The French term “immortal” comes from the exceptionally long conservation of dry bouquets.

The flowers are known for their strong fragrance and are commonly used to extract essential oil. The dilution of this essential oil is used in many skin care and body care preparations to help soothe skin irritations.
