Propolis extract

Propolis is a resinous substance made by bees from various tree resins collected from buds and bark of trees and shrubs such as balsam poplars, willows, apple trees, and local birches.

The word propolis comes from Greek, meaning “defense of the city.”

This resin is mixed with wax, pollen, and an enzyme secreted by the bees to produce propolis.

Inside the hive, bees use propolis as a sealant to fill cracks and gaps, at the entrances and throughout the hive, in order to sanitize their environment.

Bees also use propolis to mummify dead intruding animals that are too large to be removed from the hive (such as mice or shrews), thus preventing decomposition.

Propolis is an extraordinary natural antibiotic, acting as both a powerful antifungal and antibacterial agent.

Our propolis is harvested by scraping hive equipment during and at the end of each beekeeping season.

WETEEBEE propolis extract is produced, purified, and bottled at our farm located in Sainte-Christine, Quebec.

The propolis extract contains 15% raw propolis, macerated for one month in neutral alcohol at 45%, then filtered.

It can be taken pure or diluted in water, at a dosage of 3 to 10 drops at a time, to help relieve sore throats or flu-like conditions, or used externally mixed with oil or clay to cleanse a wound.

It may also be useful in cases of urinary infections, following proper diagnosis.

WETEEBEE propolis extract is made from propolis harvested directly at our farm located in the Eastern Townships of Quebec.

Composition

– 85% neutral alcohol at 45%
The propolis is macerated for approximately one month, then filtered before bottling.

Directions for use
– Internal use: pure or diluted in a small amount of water, 10 to 20 drops, particularly for sore throats or flu-like conditions.
– External use: added to oil or clay to cleanse a wound.

Precaution:
Do not use if you are allergic to bee products.
