Cautions and warnings:
Do not use pure essential oils. Essential oils are diluted in a vegetable oil when applied to the skin. Carry out a skin tolerance test in the crook of your elbow and wait 48 hours before using the oil on the skin. Do not use the essential oil if you notice a reaction such as redness, itching or stinging.
Keep out of reach of children.
If accidental ingestion occurs, seek urgent medical attention or contact a Poison Control Center.
Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes. Essential oils should not be applied to the eyes, the eye contour area, neither into the ears. In case of contact, apply a plenty of vegetable oil and take promptly medical advice.

Atlas cedar, also known as the mythical cedar of Lebanon, is mentioned several times in the Old Testament as a symbol of strength, longevity and endurance.

Cedar is a powerful antiseptic, healing agent, preservative, insect repellent and is protective of living tissue. 

It is also a lipotropic and lymphatic draining oil.

Always use diluted in a good vegetable oil.

It also reduces excess sebum and controls acne, fat skin and itching.

It also enters hair care to counter the fall of hair and eliminate dandrufts.

Origin of this essential oil

This organic Atlas cedar essential oil from Morocco, sometimes called Cedar of Lebanon, is distilled from the wood of the tree.

Properties

Anti-cellulite and anti-oedema.

It stimulates circulation helps relieve excessive water retention.

It's a powerful aid in reducing cellulite and can be very useful in helping with acne, oily skin and hair as well as relieving itching, and dandruff.

Suggestions for use

Use well diluted in a polyunsaturated oil such as safflower or canola, preferably certified organic.

Apply in gentle massage along the cushions of cellulite or gently from upwards from the feet towards the core, for minor oedemas of the legs.

Keep away from children, air, heat and light.

Le cèdre de l'Atlas est un grand arbre majestueux originaire d'Afrique du Nord, Algérie (Aurès, Kabylie et Ouarsenis), Maroc (moyen Atlas, Rif, haut Atlas oriental), pouvant atteindre 40 à 50 mètres de hauteur, présentant souvent une cime tabulaire à l'âge adulte, de grande longévité.

Il ne doit pas être confondu avec le cèdre du Liban ni le cèdre de l'Himalaya.

Il existe une confusion possible dans l'appellation "cèdre" avec plusieurs autres arbres ou arbustes qui sont communément appelés "cèdres" alors que ce sont des cyprès, des genévriers ou des thuya et non pas des cèdres véritables.

Il vit dans les zones montagneuses à une altitude de 1500 à 2500 mètres.

Il est utilisé en charpenterie et pour la construction de coffres réputés répulsifs pour les insectes.

C'est une huile qui n'est pas recommandée en usage interne.

 

Il peut être utilisé en externe en :

  • Frictions circulatoires et drainantes (diluée dans une huile végétale, en synergie avec d'autres HE)
  • Soin des cheveux et du cuir chevelu
  • Applications locales dans les mycoses (mélangée avec d'autres HE)
  • Diffusion atmosphérique
