Words by Mikaël

It is Canada’s most elegant conifer.

It can be distinguished from all other conifers for its terminal branch which is still east-oriented.

It is also called Eastern hemlock or more simply Canadian hemlock.

The distilled essential oil of this tree has physical and mentally beneficial characteristics.

Jean Dessureault, aromatherapist and essential oils distillator in Quebec since 1986, recommended this oil for its respiratory tonic quality. It is useful for people with asthma and respiratory weakness.

Anne Meurois-Givaudan found in her work that she helps to calm and prepare terminal patients and people at the last stage of their lives on earth. It reduces fears and anxiety for those who have trouble letting go.

It also mitigates anxiety and stimulates the root of the mind.

Use it pure (5 to 10 drops) or diluted in the millet oil with slow and delicate massage under the feet and chest.

Words by Anny Schneider

Hemlock is one of our majestic conifers in southeastern Canada where it extends its broad horizontal branches to forest edges and near bodies of water.

It calms muscle tension, clears the lungs and helps to overcome negative fixations.

It is recommended for its oxygenating action and as a respiratory tonic.

It is used pure, in delicate massage of the bottom of the feet or the upper part of the chest (5 to 6 drops) to help to let evacuate what encumbers us mentally and energetically.

Origin of this essential oil

This organic hemlock essential oil from Canada is distilled from the twigs of the tree.

Cautions

Keep away from children, air, heat and light.

More information

Hemlock is the softest conifer in the forest. Mikaël Zayat calls it "the mother of conifers". The essential oil of this large conifer from the south of the province is beneficial both physically and mentally.

Jean Dessureault, aromatherapist and distiller of essential oils in Quebec since 1986, recommends it for its oxygenating action and as a respiratory tonic.

As for Anne Givaudan, she says that this oil helps to soothe people at the end of life and those who have difficulty letting go, out of fear or anxiety.

It facilitates difficult transitions and changes.

It is used pure, in slow and delicate massage of the feet and upper chest (5 to 6 drops).
