Do not use pure essential oils. Essential oils are diluted in a vegetable oil when applied to the skin. Carry out a skin tolerance test in the crook of your elbow and wait 48 hours before using the oil on the skin. Do not use the essential oil if you notice a reaction such as redness, itching or stinging.

More information

Originally from South Africa, the rose geranium is cultivated all over the world but its location strongly determines its biochemical composition.

Standing 60cm tall, it features serrated, serrated green leaves and pink, red or white flowers.

The Bourbon geranium, which is a particular variety of rose geranium, is native to Reunion Island (formerly Bourbon Island).

The essential oil is traditionally used in aromatherapy against all dermatoses

  • Acne, burn, eczema, wound, impetigo, pruritus
  • Cutaneous, gynecological mycoses
  • Rheumatism, arthritis, tendonitis
  • Epistaxis, bloody cuts
  • Hemorrhoids, couperose, phlebitis
  • Stress, asthenia, anxiety

  • Monoterpene alcohols: citronellol 30-50%, geraniol 5-10%, linalool 5-10%, alpha-terpineol, nerol
  • Esters: Citronnellyl Formate 10%, Geranyl Formate, Linalyl Formate, Citronnellyl Acetate, Geranyl Acetate
  • Cis-rose oxide (=(Z)-rose oxide), trans-rose oxide (=(E)-rose oxide)
  • Ketones: isomenthone 2-6%, menthone, furopelargone
  • Monoterpenes: alpha-pinene, myrcene
  • Sesquiterpenes: gaiadiene 6-9 5-7%, beta-caryophyllene 1%, beta-bourbonene, germacrene-D
